It's not easy when you are a family on the go. Breakfast is important as it gets the day going, physically and mentally. The issue many times is what do I fix and how can it be done in a healthy and fast way. After all, it is break"fast" right? Well, I think it's important to slow down in the morning, get centered, say positive things to each other and have a prepared meal or healthy shake with fruit. It will make a difference in everyone's performance and attitude.

Here are some good examples from WedMD...

Challenges are nothing more than growth opportunities. I look at family, career, and emotional challenges like I am doing a workout. I like to push it and I got another set… This is only gonna make me stronger. I will be sore and I may need to do some extra stretching and breathing, but I will recover looking good.

Some say wellness equals happiness. I say happiness is a part of wellness, but it doesn’t define how well you are. In other words, your wellness level does not depend on your happiness level.

We have heard these sayings about happiness:

  • “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…”
  • “Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” Aristotle
  • “Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.”
  • “The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness.  You have to catch it yourself.”  Benjamin Franklin
For me, I agree with Ben more than I do with Aristotle on this one. It stands to reason that we can simultaneously not have an “ideal” situation, and be happy people. I have a quote of my own: “The grass is never greener on the other side, it’s just how you manicure the grass you have.”

Having said that, even though we can read these quotes and agree on philosophy, we may need help in identifying if we are happy and what are some of the things that help us get there.
